| Farmer Giles of Ham is a short tale full of humor, irony
and humility against the superb ones. It's also the Reconquest of the honour
of the lowest classes, the description of the simplest and most empty details
of a simple life, disturbed by an external and frightening factor. It doesn't
criticise the power neither the knighthood, eventhough it does discuss
it and introduces so real elements as life with the dog Garm and without
leaving the myths and armonies of the mitic world with the real one, it
presents it with narrative freshness that distinguish all his works.
Gara d'Edizions has wanted, with Finestra Batalera, to start a colection of books where it will be published classical titles that are antidote to the reality shows, dirty realism and others, that are a threat and a danger to the Fantasy. Injections of imagination and almost poetical metaphores are necessary so that the "Infantil Empress of the Fantasy Kingdom" of Michael Ende doesn't vanish. |
Chil o torrero de Ham se presenta en fabla aragonesa con una cuidada
y muy sobria edición que anuncia el buen inicio de la colección
Finestra Baralera (Ventana abierta de par en par) continuada, según
nos dice en la solpa por O Hobbit. La traducción ha corrido
a cargo de Chusé Aragüés, crítico de literatura
fantástica, que prologa el libro a modo de homenaje aprovechando
el reciente centenario del autor, pudiéndose apreciar casi, en dicha
traducción, una intencionalidad de autor.
